En ninguno de estos ejercicios hay que usar "for" ni "since" específicamente.

    1. Julia has a date with her new boyfriend in this restaurant at 8. He came on time but she did not. She came in only a moment ago. It is 9. "Have you been waiting long?" she asked him when she came in. "Yes, I have," he is saying. He is rather angry because he has been waiting for an hour.

    1. Ask when he came! Ask about Julia, too!

    - When did he come? (¿Cuándo llegó él?)

    - When did Julia come? (¿Cuándo llegó ella?)

    2. What exactly is her question?

    - Her question is "Have you been waiting long?"

    3. What exactly is his answer?

    - His answer is "Yes, I have."

    4. Why is he angry?

    - He is angry because he has been waiting for an hour.

    2. Tom and Susan have been married a very short time. They haven't had that house very long. The couple next door, the Barclays, have been married a very long time. They have been living in the same house all that time!

    1. Ask questions with "very long" on the end!

    a) Tom and Susan / married

    - Have Tom and Susan been married very long?

    b) the Barclays / married

    - Have the Barclays been married very long?

    c) Tom and Susan / that house

    - Have Tom and Susan had that house very long?

    - Have Tom and Susan been living in that house very long?
